Kenny D’Andrea


Kenny was born in Santa Cruz and grew up surfing on the West Side. In addition to surfing, he is an avid freediver, an accomplished triathlete, and a third-degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Kenny graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management Economics. He works as a Santa Cruz city lifeguard, EMT, and surf instructor while pursuing his goal of becoming a firefighter paramedic. Kenny began teaching surfing in 2006, and was introduced to Operation Surf in 2010 through surfing legend Richard Schmidt. Kenny started as a water volunteer before working his way up to Surf Instructor. He brings a light-hearted, patient approach to teaching, and is always an enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructor.
