Operation Surf came into existence as a result of one wounded hero’s desire to learn to surf and to overcome the pain and mental trauma of war. Now, we are helping more heroes than ever.

Our week-long program is an epic, life-changing adventure for our injured military and veterans. Bringing our participants directly to our programs within supportive coastal communities, and exposing them to the healing power of the ocean.

This all-inclusive program provides an environment where participants work to overcome perceived limitations connected to their physical and psychological disabilities.

Each element of our program is an opportunity to promote wellness and introduce new tools and resources to our veteran community. From a healing ‘Opening Blessing’, practicing mindfulness, yoga, and peer-to-peer support we strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.

Participants receive food, hotel accommodations, travel assistance, peer-to-peer support, and all the resources needed to instill hope and confidence in the water, on the board, and into their daily life. These are all provided at no cost, and are funded through generous financial and in-kind contributions from our sponsors and donors.

Our Operation Surf Week-long Program is currently operating in San Luis Obispo, CA, and expanding into Santa Cruz, CA in the Fall of 2021.
