John Hallett is a retired Army combat Veteran and resides in San Luis Obispo, CA, with his wife and two children. After a tough transition to civilian life, while battling severe PTSD and other combat-related injuries, he met Van Curaza and was brought into the Operation Surf Ohana. He has been a participant of the Operation Surf 6 (OS6) six-month local program in 2016, then again as a participant of the week-long program in Huntington Beach in 2019.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from San Diego State University and served as a Scout (19D), then as an Armor Officer while in the Army. He currently serves on Operation Surf’s leadership team as our Veteran Services Manager, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with Veterans issues and the challenges they experience.
